Crooked And Bulbous Nose Correction With Nasal Bump Smoothing
This patient consulted with Thomas Lamperti, MD looking to improve both her chronic nasal congestion and outer nasal appearance. She wanted to improve the rightward nasal deviation, smooth the bridge hump and refine her bulbous and droopy nasal tip. Dr. Lamperti performed an open septorhinoplasty surgery which allowed him to straighten the patient's nose on front view using controlled bone fractures (osteotomies), spreader grafts and clocking sutures. He concurrently performed septoplasty surgery which greatly improved the patient's nasal airflow. To refine the patient's bulbous tip Dr. Lamperti placed a right sided lateral crura strut graft which was used to flatten the very convex lower lateral crura on that side. Both right and left cephalic trims and dome binding sutures were used to further refine the tip. In the 14 month after photos you can see how the patient's nose is straighter and has a smoother dorsal line. Her tip has improved bulbosity and is also less droopy.
